The spring Celebration of Children's Literature at Montgomery College is for all book lovers. Jointly sponsored by the College, the Children's Book Guild, and several other organizations, this gathering of practicing and aspiring authors and illustrators, educators, children's literature specialists, librarians, and interested others features inspiration and information for everyone. The one-day conference includes morning and afternoon speakers and workshops, lunch, and autographing sessions. Many Guild member authors and illustrators offer workshops and critique sessions at the annual conference.

The 2006 conference – River of Imagination: Fiction and Nonfiction Storytelling - featured lively insight into the research process by author Susan Campbell Bartoletti and a moving conversation between author Deborah Wiles and her editor at Harcourt, Liz Van Doren.
