If you are a children's literature professional in the DC-Metro Area, we would be delighted to welcome you as a member. In general, the Children's Book Guild is an organization for professionals who are established in their disciplines. Please see our Membership Criteria and Membership Application pages for details.

Yes! Throughout the year, the Guild's Speaker Series and our yearly Signature Event brings in authors, illustrators, editors and other children's literature professionals at the top of their field, to discuss their work and relevant issues. Please consult our Speaker Series and Signature Event pages for additional information about how to attend a CBG event as a guest.

Guild authors and illustrators are available for appearances at school and library functions. See our Author Visits Section for information on all the members who present in our area and on a virtual basis.

Guild members participate in local book fairs and festivals and periodically the Guild collaborates with other community organizations to offer public events.
