Erica Perl

Erica S. Perl (she/her) is the author of more than 40 popular and critically acclaimed books for children. She’s also collaborated on books with Dolly Parton and R.J. Palacio. Erica has received accolades and awards, including the National Jewish Book Award, three Sydney Taylor Medals (one silver, two bronze), and The Chickadee Award (Maine’s State Picture Book Award). Her work has also graced the New York Times Best Seller list as well as multiple State Book Awards and “Best Books” lists. Erica teaches in the Vermont College of Fine Arts MFA program and she does writing workshops and presentations at schools, libraries, and conferences. Her author visits are educational, engaging, and empowering. This may be because she has a theater background, a law degree, and an ice cream truck driver's license. Erica grew up in Burlington, VT but now lives in Washington, DC. She is an excellent baker, an overconfident skier, and a relentless woozler of dogs and guinea pigs.
