Patricia Pearson

P. O'Connell Pearson (Patty) is an award-winning author of nonfiction history for readers ages ten and up. Her newest book, NO ORDINARY WOMEN: HOW PROGRESSIVE ERA REFORMERS RESHAPED AMERICA, releases in March, 2026. Her books include WE ARE YOUR CHILDREN TOO, winner of the International Literacy Association's Social Justice Literature Award; FLY GIRLS, winner of Arizona's Grand Canyon Readers Award; FIGHTING FOR THE FOREST, finalist for the New York Public Library's Children's History Book Prize, and CONSPIRACY, named a Bank Street Books Outstanding Best of 2021. A native of the Washington, DC area, Pearson spent several happy decades teaching high school history and writing history curriculum and materials before earning an MFA in writing for young people and teaching history in a whole new way.
