A Quilt of Stars: Astronaut Karen Nyberg Stitches a Dream

A QUILT OF STARS, co-written with astronaut Karen Nyberg and illustrated by Alida Massari, weaves together the story of Karen's incredible journey to become an astronaut and of her unifying quilt project while living on the International Space Station. The Astronomical Quilt Challenge drew participants from around the globe who contributed nearly 2,400 star-themed quilt blocks. Volunteers from NASA sewed the blocks into 28 quilts, a testament to the power of teamwork and creative innovation.
